About Sian

Hello, I’m Sian - and I’m glad you’re here.

For as long as I can remember, I’ve been curious about what makes people strong, steady and successful in life. Not just the practical things that help us get through the day, but the deeper questions too.

How do we stay calm when life becomes uncertain?

Why do people react the way they do under pressure?

And how do we live with both peace and strength?

My professional life began in demanding, real-world environments. I spent many years working in frontline public sector roles, including serving as a police officer in Northern England. It was work that required a core of steel, clear thinking, emotional awareness and the ability to stay calm in situations where tension and uncertainty were high.

During those years I learned a great deal about human behaviour. I saw how pressure, stress and difficult personalities can influence the way people think and act.

And I also saw something else - that the people who handled life best were not always the loudest or most forceful. They were the ones who could stay centred, aware and steady in the moment.

Alongside my professional work, I was deeply drawn to understanding the inner world. I began studying yoga, meditation and complementary approaches to wellbeing. I took Kung-Fu - learning to defend while causing minimum harm. What started as curiosity became a lifelong path of study and practice, both in the UK and internationally.

Over time I realised something important:

Strength and calm are not opposites.
They are partners.

Real life does not ask us to choose between being practical or reflective. It asks us to be both.

In 2016 I was diagnosed with cancer. That experience changed my perspective in profound ways. It required me to slow down, listen carefully and rely on the very practices I had spent years studying. Breath, awareness, patience and steadiness were no longer ideas - they became essential tools for navigating real challenges.

That period strengthened my belief in something simple but powerful: inner practices are not luxuries - they are life skills.

Today, I bring together everything I’ve learned from the worlds of frontline service, psychology, mindfulness, yoga and personal development to help others create meaningful change in their own lives.

"You already carry wisdom within you..."

I am a registered yoga teacher and continue to study and train with respected teachers and traditions across the world. I remain deeply grateful to the many mentors who have shaped my journey, including Sara Avant Stover, Kimberley Johnson, Caroline Klebl, Miriam Indries, Chongkol Setthakorn, Moh Bunchu Chantrabut, Eileen McGlone, Narendra Mehta, Clive O’Hara, and the teachers of the Mahasi Sayadaw tradition at the Saraniya Centre in Salford.

Their wisdom continues to inform and inspire my work.

Woman Doing Yoga

Over the years I have also created a number of online programmes designed to make wellbeing practical, accessible and supportive for everyday life. These include Yoga for Health, Yoga for Stress and Home Gym — programmes created for people who want straightforward guidance that fits into real life.

My work today focuses on three core areas:

Better health
Stronger relationships
The mindset needed to achieve your potential

From this foundation, I developed Self-Defence for the Soul - a practical approach that helps people handle difficult personalities, set clear boundaries and remain calm and confident in challenging situations.

It combines real-world experience with mindfulness, communication skills and emotional awareness, helping people protect their inner peace without losing their strength or authenticity.

At the heart of everything I teach is a simple belief.

You already carry wisdom within you.

Sometimes it becomes difficult to hear because of stress, expectations or habits we’ve picked up over time. When you learn to slow down and reconnect with that inner clarity, confidence grows naturally - not through force, but through understanding.

My role is not to change who you are.

My role is to help you reconnect with your own strength, steadiness and clarity so you can move through life with greater confidence, purpose and peace.
